Make evidence easy to review.

Connect each requirement to an owner, a record and a review date.

  1. Start with scope. Confirm the systems and applicable assessment requirements before collecting evidence.
  2. Map the objective. Identify what must be demonstrated, rather than collecting files without a purpose.
  3. Name an owner. Record who operates the control and who can explain or demonstrate it.
  4. Choose useful proof. Combine policies with implementation records, interviews and demonstrations as appropriate.
  5. Check consistency. Compare the SSP, configuration, procedures and current operating evidence.
  6. Keep it current. Record the review date and refresh evidence after relevant changes.
  7. Protect access. Use an approved evidence channel; keep sensitive material out of public tools and inquiries.
